This is an unofficial
site and Slash isn't involved with this page.
My name is Rui and all the
sound files you'll hear here are played by me or by Slash Guitar Page collaborators.
What
you won't find here:
- News on Slash
- Exact transcriptions of songs. I'm
no pro so there might be some mistakes ...
- Elaborated pages with the latest technology
and graphics (this is my first page!)
What
you'll find here:
- Here you'll find tablatures, small tabs
with their respective recordings (in mp3 format), articles, tips, ...
All sounds contained on this page
are played by me and by Slash Guitar Page collaborators who send in their
own guitar recordings relevant to learn Slash's
guitar techniques. All the texts
contained on this site were written by me except some articles on the Articles
section which are identified with their source.
Anyway, this is my way to show
him my grateful for all that great music that he as created through all
this years!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
In order to play the mp3 sound files, you'll need a mp3 player. I suggest
you the Winamp mp3 player that can be
download for
free at http://www.winamp.com/. Because
of the limited space I've got all the sound files are compressed in .zip
format so you'll
need to extract
them before you can play them.
Slash Guitar Page
was last updated in 8/04/02 - I had some
problems (again) with my computer so I wasn't able to update the page last
month.
First of all, Tiago and me would like to thank
everyone involved on the Slash Tribute album,
we have received more than 25 great performances and I'm sure that Slash
will enjoy it!
We'll take some time till we send it to Linda Scott who'll pass it to Slash
because we're
finishing the booklet - Michelle Thorpe is working hard on it and from what we've
seen, it's
simply amazing!
Now a different matter, last thursday we received the sad news of the Megadeth
disbanding.
Megadeth was always a big influence on me (and on Slash too) and this can
only be sad news
for all heavy rock / metal fans. Megadeth had always great songs and great
guitar players
and they were one of the few good bands that were still around. Slash almost
made part of
Megadeth in the late 80's but ended up returning to Guns N' Roses. Let's
just wish the
best to Dave Mustaine so he can make a complete recovery of his left arm
and hand (which
were injuried stopping him from being able to play guitar).
The updates for this month are:
- Updated the Fans! section with info on 2 big
Slash fans: Juuso
Heljaste (from Finland)
and Grant
Davidson (from the U.K.)! Also added some more informations on Uri
Gilad (from
Israel) influences and added pics of Christian
Lippert (Germany) guitar!
- With your bitch
slap rappin' and your cocaine tongue you get nothin' done!
Quote of the month:
"One of the things that (angers me) is that if (Guns N' Roses) could have
just stayed doing what it
was we originally set out to do when we first
started, and maintained that, then I never would have
quit." - Slash
Slash Guitar Page
previous update - 28/02/02 - Updated
the Fans! section with info on 2 huge Slash fans: Ismail
Karabaþoðlu (from Turkey)
and Christian
Lippert (from Germany)!
- Updated the How
To Get Slash Sound with some more (precious) info on Slash's amps!
